What The Bible Shows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00c2\u00a0Dino Might? \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Dinosaurs, Genesis &amp; the Gospel\" src=\"http:\/\/ecx.images-amazon.com\/images\/I\/51jVjJyYJnL._SL500_AA300_.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Anti-evolutionists are feeling pretty good about themselves, so confident they&#8217;ve got the godless on the run that\u00c2\u00a0their analogy generation skills are shot.<\/p>\n<p>From the crypto-creationist Discovery Institute&#8217;s evolutionnews.org \u00c2\u00a0[clever name to propagandize the unwary evolution-curious!] comes a metaphor for the ages: &#8220;Creation scientists&#8221; are Mao Tse Tung, and Beijing is theirs!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.evolutionnews.org\/2012\/07\/who_lost_scienc062141.html\"><em>&#8220;After 1949 when China went Communist, American anti-Communists in their anguish turned on fellow Americans, seeking to pin the blame\u00c2\u00a0somewhere\u00c2\u00a0and prompting the famous &#8220;Who Lost China?&#8221; debate. Evolutionists lately have been following this same path, bewailing the public&#8217;s continued discontent with Darwinism and support for academic-freedom legislation, and looking for someone to blame, even if that someone is on the Darwinists&#8217; own side.&#8221;<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<div>\u00c2\u00a0Proof for this headscratcher comes of course from The Atlantic, where Robert Wright knows who to blame: pushy\u00c2\u00a0atheists!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In simpler times only Wright recalls, godless and god-smacked respected one another, we all liked Ike, and god apparently wasn&#8217;t shoved into the Pledge of Allegiance or onto our coins.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Then, trouble.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/national\/archive\/2012\/06\/creationists-vs-evolutionists-an-american-story\/258384\/\"><em>&#8220;A few years ago, such biologists as Richard Dawkins and PZ Myers started violating the nonaggression pact.&#8221;<\/em><\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">Other than dates and such, right on the money!<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00c2\u00a0Dawkins&#8217; god squad warnings appeared in 2006, seven years after the Discovery Institute&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.antievolution.org\/features\/wedge.pdf\">&#8220;The Wedge&#8221;<\/a> appeared, laying out their strategy for stealth creationism, itself a cleaned up version of the god-struck&#8217;s historic strategy.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">When called on facts and chronology Wright doubled down on absolving creationists and climate denialists:<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/national\/archive\/2012\/06\/creationists-vs-evolutionists-an-american-story\/258384\/  \">&#8220;Still, my main points are (1) even if this is what provoked Dawkins, Myers, et. al., their gratuitously insulting reaction (IMHO) was still counter-productive, fueling the anti-evolutionism fires; (2) their reaction may well have abetted anti-scientism in areas unrelated to evolution, such as climate change.]&#8221;<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00c2\u00a0First off, demand creates its own supply? \u00c2\u00a0Second, why is Wright pretending this is about hurt feelings rather than power and ideology? \u00c2\u00a0Creationism and climate denial can have roots in religious beleaf, but its whole mobilization infestructure is paid for by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2005\/08\/21\/national\/21evolve.html?_r=1&amp;ei=5088&amp;en=24bc7c9b16cac8a8&amp;ex=1282276800&amp;partner=rssnyt&amp;emc=rss&amp;pagewanted=all\">somebody<\/a>. About the spokesmen for American liberalis they feel they know no such thing.&#8221;<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Lets certify that Communisim was feared, but McCarthy was looking for means of doing in domestic enemies. \u00c2\u00a0The fall of Beijing was to cause the fall of Washington.<\/p>\n<p>Later day former leftist Ronald Radosh still swoons for Kristol&#8217;s Lattimore stylings.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/partisanreview\/archive\/2000\/4\/radosh.html\"><em>&#8220;Kristol did what few other liberal commentators did; he read and learned from the McCarran Committee\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s report on the Institute for Pacific Relations.&#8221;<\/em><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Its unclear if Radosh read <a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/details\/instituteofpacif1952unit\">the report<\/a>, which is a mishmash of testimony excerpts and theories often proving the opposite of what it claims.* \u00c2\u00a0Radosh even boasts about \u00c2\u00a0Kristol&#8217;s outing Lattimore as an opponent of Japanese imperialism in China:<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/partisanreview\/archive\/2000\/4\/radosh.html\"><em>&#8220;Kristol argued that in 1935 and 1936, Lattimore had favored a tough American policy towards Japan, at a time when the Communists &#8220;were insisting that the United States intervene to prevent Japan from gobbling up China.&#8221; Lattimore, in other words, had confirmed exactly how his own positions dovetailed with those of the Soviet Union.&#8221;<\/em><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8230;without pausing to consider the Soviet&#8217;s then ally, or the consequences of \u00c2\u00a0backing Japan: Chiang Kai-Shek&#8217;s demise fifteen years early.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>*After detailing an instance where Lattimore did the opposite of what a communist had asked him to do in editing, the Committee said he was still a bad person, and never mind:\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/details\/instituteofpacif1952unit\">&#8220;From the communist point of view, a given book or article may be to their interest, even designedly to their interest, though in quantity 95 percent of it is neutral or non communist&#8221; [page 95]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>So no defense then!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; \u00c2\u00a0Dino Might? \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 &nbsp; Anti-evolutionists are feeling pretty good about themselves, so confident they&#8217;ve got the godless on the run that\u00c2\u00a0their analogy generation skills are shot.
